Heavenly Mountain Resort (Base: 6,540', Top: 10,067')

6-day Forecast Discussion Updated for Wednesday, August 27, 2008

PLEASE NOTE: The temperatures shown for "base" are more of a mid mountain temperature forecast. In season (October through April) we will be back to forecasting base and top temperatures for partner resorts like Heavenly and Kirkwood.

OVERALL SITUATION TODAY through Friday -//> High pressure builds in stronger, with warmer than average temperatures, well into the 80's, and mostly light breezes. West breezes/ winds develop by Friday as low pressure approaches the Northwest US.

Saturday -//> A low pressure trough, with instability and some moisture in place, allows for a slight chance of thunderstorms and showers by afternoon / evening mainly. Cooler temperatures and west winds are expected under partly cloudy skies.

Sunday and Monday -//> Drier west winds develop as low pressure moves east. High pressure begins to build back in by Monday with lighter breezes. CM
