Lutsen Mountains consists of four separate mountains spread over more than 1,000 acres of forest. The ski area's 87 runs offer variety and challenge for all abilities. The entire ski area overlooks Lake Superior and offers spectacular views of the Lake from just about every run. Lutsen Mountains is the largest ski area in the Midwest. There are 4 mountains. The skiable vertical drop is 1,088 feet. There are 87 runs spread over more than 1,000 acres of forest. The are three on-mountain resorts and another dozen along the shores of Lake Superior.
