The following discussion applies to Southwestern British Columbia, including Whistler Blackcomb, Hemlock and Mt. Cain; along with the Cascades of Washington including Mt. Baker, Stevens Pass and Badger Mtn.

Some leftover snow showers are possible for the first half of the day today but by this afternoon we will see partly sunny skies develop, especially in Washington.  Only minor additional accumulation of an inch or two at best are possible today, with the best chances in B.C. where the snow will last a little longer.  High pressure then builds into the region and will be centered just offshore tonight before moving into south central B.C. on Thursday.  This will bring us a lot of sunshine and slowly warmer temperatures as we head towards the weekend.  Freezing levels will rise of course with those warmer temperatures moving in, but it should still be pleasant right through Saturday.

We begin to watch our next system affect us with clouds increasing and some very light rain and snow possible on Sunday, especially closer to the coastline.  This next low pressure center and associated front will move towards southern British Columbia by Monday and bring an increased chance of precipitation, although amounts still look rather light.

***The next forecast will not be issued unitl Monday, March 22nd.***

Long range forecast / discussion...March 23 to 25

The low pressure that moved ashore on the 22nd will continue to spread eastward with time and give us some light to occasionally moderate precipitation on the 23rd.  We should get a brief break in between systems on the 24th before another disturbance moves in on the 25th as a west-northwesterly flow develops bringing systems in about every 36 to 48 hours.
