Long range forecast / discussion...November 12 to 15
--Late next week and weekend, Pacific storms start affecting the west with some clouds, west winds, and cooling across SoCal. Early the following week we see high pressure ridging aloft and warm sunny weather again. Toward the 20th of November (a couple of days before or after) we may see a cut-off low sweep through with some snowfall possible in our local mountains. We will be monitoring this.
--WINTER OUTLOOK; We do expect above average snowfall and average temperatures overall. Usually the really big storms move in during the later winter (after the New Year)/ spring time frame during an El Nino year and winter seems to drag on almost into June. We also expect some wider variations in temperature than we usually see, with some possibly extreme cold air masses making their way south. CM
