Hey Chris: I am a boarder and there are 5 of us in our family who all
board. The report has been the best tool around for our family to plan
trips local because of your excellent long range forcasting. Just the
right amount of technical info. Superior to the weather channel or
anything else that I've looked at on the web.

I have a job that allows for some flex in when to get off a day, so it
worked perfect, and we always had great conditions for riding. I hope
your service can continue into the coming snow seasons. If this sounds like
an endorsement, it is!

All the best,

Chris,
I just wanted to say that I think the snowforecast page is the best and
most accurate source for local mountain weather. My first trip up this year,
your site prepared me for plenty of snow - I can't tell you how many people
were turned away because they were unprepared; even the ski instructors
weren't expecting it (and weren't dressed accordingly)!
Thanks!

Chris:

I visit your site almost daily for updates on Big Bear weather. The
most accurate, complete, and easy to use of the weather sites on Big Bear.
The Weather Channel gives us Big Bear weather, extrapolated from
Redlands forecasts(!) from their location in Pennsylvania. You may not
actually be in Big Bear, but you'd never know it. Great job, and best
wishes for next year.

Hello Chris,

Glad to find an email site for you...
I've been following Snowforecast.com all winter. I patrol at Snow
Valley and blew an ACL in mid-December. Even though I can't ski this season,
I've been using your site to help others decide when to hit the slopes.
It's an invaluable resource. Your predictions are very often right-on. It's
an excellent site that is valuable to those of us who commute down the
hill and need up-the-hill info. As a 16 year mountain resident, it means a
lot to find this kind of information. Thank you so much for your work on
Snowforecast.com. I will share the site with others and know they too will
pass it on. Feel free to use my comments anywhere you'd like. I can't find
enough good words to say about your work!

I would like to thank you for your excellent weather forecasting this
winter. I planned my visits to Copper Mouontain based upon the
forecasts. It allowed me to determine what I needed to wear (warm or
cold conditions) and which skiis to bring (powder or packed powder). In
addition, I could plan which days to take off in the week to catch
powder days because of the incredible accuracy of the forecasts.

I do hope that you will be back next year - in fact I hope you become a

Thanks Again and have a safe summer.

Hi,
I enjoyed your commentary this year. Have you considered a daily email
blast to subscribers? You could still provide sponsor ads/links and
also inlcude more links in the email to other supporting data like maps,

it builds over time. In any event, keep up the good work. Great winter.

Subject: Your Reports

Mr. Manly,

I have already written you regarding the usefulness of your Snow Summit Reports.
Since I have now discovered you write these for other areas as well, including
Copper Mountain in Colorado, I will be searching for them on a daily basis
during the ski season.

I am a avid skier and a somewhat young retired person and ski twenty to thirty
days a season. I am free to head out whenever and wherever I choose. Snow
reports and predicted weather have a lot to do with where or if I go at any given
time. Having a daily, personalized report like the one you offer is a needed and
appreciated service. So many reports are generic and often have no bearing on
local conditions, especially mountain areas. Having skied more than 50 different
mountains and planning more, a service like this is important. Not only to me
but to many of my skiing friends. Ski resorts should know, that quality,
accurate snow and weather reports are a benefit to them. Less than ideal
conditions don't keep us from coming. Rather, they let us know what to expect or
in some cases, allow us to change our plans to still come, but at a better time.
I have always appreciated Snow Summit's philosophy in this regard.

There is no need to respond to this note but feel free to use any or all of my
comments, however you wish, to support your efforts. Keep up the good work and
thanks again.

Just wanted to say that I really enjoy and use your forecast. I have a
cabin up in BBL and have made 'emergency' trips to shut down the water
for extreme freezing temperatures that you forecast. Didn't get to ski in
BB (SoCal for that matter) this year due to my schedule, but certainly did
read with enthusiasm the forecasts for snow in the hopes that my schedule
would free-up and I could get in some time on the slopes.

I wouldn't suggest any changes to the forecast. I found it extremely
readable, accurate and helpful. (It might be a little biased toward
optimistic snowfall estimates, but if I were doing the predicting, mine
would be too!)

I especially like the historic hi-hi, low-hi, low-low and high-low for
BBL. The one thing that would be interesting to see is how the actual temps
on the previous day compared to the historic figures.

Thanks again for all your hard work and research. I'll start checking
for your forecasts this October (ha!) when we will be looking for that
first deep snow (maybe too optimistic? ha!)

I want to thank you for a great weather guide. Every time I logged on to

would be like. Most skiers probably used your site to see when the weather
would be clear and warm (most So. Cal. skiers want nice weather with good
snow). I on the other hand wanted BIG storms to ski in, because that is,
after all, when you get the FAT powder! I totally enjoyed your reports,
they are almost better than the ski report them selves. I also loved that
every time I read the report it called for more storms (although the
season started out a little late, when it arrived it kicked you know what). I
also like your personal opinions and comments.

As for next year: Forecast another KILLER Season!!
Seriously maybe a colorful graphic of weather systems approaching or
snowfall predictions (like usually the San Gabriel Mountains-Mt. Baldy,
etc-will get more snow). Any way thanks for all your hard work.
