TEMPERATURE MAP

--OVERALL SITUATION TODAY
- We
see a drier west flow aloft as low pressure moves off
to the east. Thunderstorms are not expected, and temperatures
warm in the drier air, and under slightly stronger high
pressure aloft.
--THROUGH 6 DAYS -
Wednesday
and Thursday - A
low pressure system
moves through Canada, with a low pressure trough sagging
south across the Rockies as it does. We see mostly dry
air in place, but some high based isolated thunderstorms
develop due to instability and cooler air aloft. We
do not expect much in the way of measurable rain to
reach the ground.
Friday - A cool front passes through,
with scattered showers and thunderstorms possible, and
cooler temperatures.
Saturday
and Sunday - High
pressure tries to build back in, but low pressure up
north keeps it from doing so in any significant way.
Temperatures do warm, and we see isolated showers and
thunderstorms each afternoon.CM

| Long
range forecast/ discussion...August 27 to 30 |
|
--After the 25th (next week) temperatures look warmer
and the chance for thunderstorms is back (isolated to
scattered daily), as high pressure aloft ridges in over
the Rockies (no change through August). We may dry out
again in early September as a fall-ish low pressure
system moves through the northern Rockies. CM
