...Sierra Snow During the First Half of the Weekend...

.A Pacific frontal system will bring snow to the higher elevations
of the Sierra Cascade range through Saturday. The heaviest
snowfall is expected tonight with a transition to showers during
the day on Saturday. Mountain travel impacts are likely during
this time. Carry tire chains if planning mountain travel this
weekend and check the latest road and weather conditions before
departing.

Sunday should be a good travel day with dry weather expected. But
look for wintry weather conditions to return early next week.

SATURDAY...

* WHAT...Snow occurring. Heaviest snow expected tonight, turning
  to showers during the day on Saturday. Total snow accumulations
  of 4 to 8 inches with localized amounts over a foot above 6000
  feet. A couple of inches of snow down to around 4000 to 5000
  feet. Plan on slippery road conditions.

* WHERE...Western Plumas County/Lassen Park and West Slope
  Northern Sierra Nevada.

* WHEN...Until 5 PM Saturday.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Be prepared for reduced visibilities at
  times.
