AUSTRALIA and NEW ZEALAND - Wednesday and Thursday (16th-17th)- A not very impressive weather system moves through today and tonight, with a light coating of 25 to 50cm of snow for the resorts mainly above 1,500 meters. On Thursday the storm is exiting with some lingering showers across the south Island, and flurries at the resorts (no real accumulation).
Friday and Saturday (18-19th) - We expect to be mostly between storms, with approaching low pressure, and increasing clouds on Saturday.
Sunday through next Tuesday (20th - 22nd) - Unsettled, and becoming colder as we go... Sunday and Monday both have a separate storm that is expected to hit, with a stronger one, the strongest, next Tuesday (22nd) into early Wednesday. The Tuesday-Wednesday storm looks colder and could drop 200-300cm of snow above mainly 1,500m, but some snow accumulations to 1,000m as upper-level dynamics and moisture combine to deliver some good early season snowfall.

LONGER RANGE FORECAST (New Zealand) - Mid and late next week (the 23rd -25th or so) we expect a big storm to move in, with heavy snowfalls to the South Island, and higher snow levels  but heavy snow also to the North Island. More detail is coming. CM

CHILE/ ARGENTINA - Perspectiva General (Overview) - Wednesday and Thursday look ....
Friday through Sunday - ...

LONGER RANGE FORECAST (South America) - Mid-May and through the rest of the month, we are expecting the more dominant pattern to be unsettled, with colder storms affecting the region as the jet stream moves further north. Ski areas to the south of Santiago will see more frequent snowfall through this period. Either way winter is here and more frequent snowstorms are on the way! CM
