Going big on Aspen forecast snowfall totals this weekend!
We have bumped up forecast snow totals for Aspen and the rest of the state (including heavy snow for southwest Colorado also)...

Today through this evening we have a low pressure system moving through. Moisture looks better than previously though, and so do dynamics, so we increased forecast snowfall totals to moderate at the base and heavy on the upper mountain (!!!) as upper-level dynamics (including a well positioned jet stream) aid in producing some great snowfall. The San Juan Mountains, Telluride, Wolf Creek, Durango, should all see some moderate snowfall also, possibly heavier with a favorable southwest cross-mountain flow of winds at times as this system moves through Colorado.

A computer Model representation of the forecast from this morning through this evening, though totals forecast are higher than this guidance shows...
