Snow in Tahoe!
Oct 20, 2017 - 5am - It is snowing now in Tahoe and Mammoth, plus all areas in between, as a strong and cold low pressure system moves through. It looks like a few inches or so of snow have fallen in Truckee and many areas around Lake Tahoe, with 4 to 7 inches on mid and upper resort mountain areas. It looks like 8 to 12 inches of snow have fallen along the Sierra Crest above 8,000 feet.

After a week+ of sunny and milder weather for most of the rest of October, as the east coast gets its turn at some showery weather, we expect unsettled weather, low pressure, and snow for Tahoe to return the last couple days of October into early November. We will have to watch for closed low pressure systems at this time, which sometimes mean big snows (and rain) further south across southern California. CM
