I explain where in this video. The weekend is looking sunny for most major ski areas of the western US, but some areas will see fresh snow just prior to this onset of beautiful blue skies. Thank you for listening!
Basically, a shot of new snow Wednesday/ Thursday, and another Friday/ early Saturday, favoring Sun Valley-Jackson Hole-Big Sky, but mostly Colorado. Our personal favorite? Aspen-Snowmass with 7 to 15" of new snow this morning and more coming! Look for mostly sunshine all weekend, Saturday and Sunday, all across the west, with Colorado just clearing out from a shot of fresh light to moderate snow. Colorado is the place to be. In late January, rest of the month, Colorado is again, the place to be, on the eastern side of a high pressure ridge that dominates the west, allowing a few storms to move through and clip Jackson Hole to Colorado with mostly light to moderate slope freshening snow through January.
