Here is our "top picks" snow forecast for this weekend...

Hands-down, Arizona will get the lions share of snow before this weekend, with Thursday and Friday producing possibly 2 feet of new snow for the Arizona Snowbowl near Flagstaff, and that is on top of already great snowfall this season! This is due to a VERY cold storm system dropping in out of the north (528-534dm 500-1kmb thickness this far south is unusual), a bit limited on moisture, but pulling from the Pacific offshore of southern California as it sweeps through. Saturday looks like an awesome day to catch some serious freshies there! Brian Head in Southern Utah is a bit of a sleeper, high 10,000+ foot elevation means great quality snow, and they will do well also.

Thursday and Friday snow also hits southwest and parts of western Colorado, favoring Telluride through Crested Butte and to some extent Aspen-Snowmass, dropping 6 to 12 inches of snow on much of the mountain for Aspen-Snowmass, 1 to 2 feet for Telluride, and in between totals for Crested Butte. Sunshine will crack through on Saturday and Sunday...
