NEW ZEALAND -
--> (Instagram) "Expect mostly fair and warmer weather to day for north and South Island. A closed low pressure system is moving in mainly across the North Island Saturday night through Sunday morning, some clearing, then again showers on Monday. ALL of these look like high elevation snow showers and base rain or rain/ snow mix for North Island resorts. Snow levels are expected to range from 2,000 to 2,500 meters (roughly 6,500 to 8,500 feet) during the storm there on the North Island. For the South Island resorts, we expect mostly fair to partly sunny weather Friday and Saturday under a high pressure ridge, and partly sunny Sunday and Monday as the ridge weakens. Tuesday through Thursday, we expect a progressive storm from the south to hit the South Island Resorts with 25 to 50cm there, and 10 to 25cm for North Island resorts as the system weakens on its way north. June is looking busy with storms, so early season is also looking good across NZ! See the latest at snowforecast.com including our long range outlook..."

NEW ZEALAND LONGER RANGE FORECAST - It looks like the first 1/2 of June we see a busy pattern with more days of snow and cold than sunny days, piling up the snow for great early season conditions! The pattern looks busy due to numerous upper-level waves, more prominent after the 8th of June. CM

CHILE/ ARGENTINA - Perspectiva General (Overview) - Wednesday and Thursday look ....
Friday through Sunday - ...

LONGER RANGE FORECAST (South America) - Mid-May and through the rest of the month, we are expecting the more dominant pattern to be unsettled, with colder storms affecting the region as the jet stream moves further north. Ski areas to the south of Santiago will see more frequent snowfall through this period. Either way winter is here and more frequent snowstorms are on the way! CM
