Colder weather, snow, coming for Utah and Colorado!
If you are sick of the high snow levels, and the dense, wet snow that has been plaguing Utah and Colorado in recent storms, then you will be pretty happy with this forecast...

CO_Story_02172017

By mid and late next week, the pattern will change for Utah and Colorado, with a colder Northwest flow and storms moving in from out of the Northwest, as a high-pressure ridge builds along the west coast, and these storms drop in on the east side of the ridge, diving south across the region. This will provide colder Canadian-origin storms, with lighter powder and colder air across the region, for better overall conditions. While this pattern is not usually favorable for large snowfalls, we do expect frequent snow falls of light to moderate snow (mostly), sometimes heavy, and this continues right into March. For places like Aspen-Snowmass, where rain has fallen at the base and In town (8,000-9,000 feet mostly), this is welcome news. We will continue to watch as this unfolds, but it does look like an improvement, and a reason to fly or drive in and catch some late-season runs!
