Updated for Friday May 29, 2020 - This weekend upper-level high pressure ridging holds out ahead of a low pressure system pushing into the western US. Expect 80+f high temps in Aspen today with a mostly sunny day, then afternoon/ evening thunderstorms are expected Saturday and through most of next week, air mass variety but with some extra moisture (especially tomorrow/ Saturday), mostly "isolated" to "scattered" in nature, hit and miss (but again, more "hit" tomorrow/ Saturday). It looks lime the chance for thunderstorms good, soaking showers increases as we move into the first week of June... Longer Range: Lots of thunderstorm and shower activity is expected mid and late next week as moisture is channeled across the southern and central Rocky Mountain areas. We expect to see drying and cooling with windy conditions as low pressure sweeps through next weekend and that Monday (5-8 June). High pressure ridging builds in afterward (after the 8th of June) across the region, with warming and just isolated (the usual) afternoon thunderstorms each day, mostly over the peaks.
