URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE National Weather Service Juneau AK 935 PM AKST Sun Jan 25 2026 ...WINTER WEATHER IMPACTING THE NORTHERN PANHANDLE... .Multiple fronts are expected to push in from the southwest bringing multiple round of precipitation, warming temperatures, and increasing winds through early week. Precipitation has already started Sunday evening with some snow for the north and even some freezing rain near Yakutat. Juneau is seeing somewhat higher precip rates at the moment than most other areas. Monday will feature a transition to rain for most low elevation areas with the snow moving to the higher elevations of the Klondike highway by Monday night as snow rates increase, and snow levels rise to around 2500 ft, transitioning snow characteristic to wet and dense, and increasing southerly winds.
