The National Weather Service in Fairbanks has issued a Fire Weather Watch, which is in effect from Wednesday morning through Wednesday evening. * AFFECTED AREA...Upper Koyukuk Valley, Tanana Flats, Goldstream Valley and Nenana Hills, Fairbanks Metro Area, Nenana, Central Interior, Northern Denali Borough and Eastern Alaska Range North of Trims Camp. * TIMING...From Wednesday morning through Wednesday evening. * WINDS...East-Northeast 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 30 mph. * HUMIDITY...As low as 20 percent. * TEMPERATURES...Highs in the upper 80s. * IMPACTS...Rapid ignition, growth and spread of fires will be possible. Hot, dry, and windy conditions may lead to rapid spread of fires. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Fire Weather Watch means that weather conditions could lead to the potential for a Red Flag event in the near future.
