...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 AM PDT
THURSDAY...

* WHAT...Snow. Snow accumulations between 2 to 6 inches below 7000
  feet and 6 to 12 inches above 7000 feet. Locally higher
  accumulations up to 18 inches possible along the Sierra crest.
  Winds gusting 30 to 40 mph for most communities in the Tahoe
  Basin, with gusts as high as 90 mph along ridgelines.

* WHERE...Greater Lake Tahoe Area.

* WHEN...Until 11 AM PDT Thursday.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult due to slick roads and
  reduced visibilities. The hazardous conditions could impact the
  Wednesday evening and Thursday morning commutes. Strong winds
  could cause damage to trees and power lines, and impact recreation.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Slow down and use caution while traveling. The latest road
conditions for the state you are calling from can be obtained by
calling 5 1 1.

...LAKE WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM THIS MORNING TO 8 PM PDT
THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...West winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph and waves
  between 1 to 3 feet.

* WHERE...Greater Lake Tahoe Area, and Western Nevada Basin and
  Range including Pyramid Lake.

* WHEN...From 11 AM this morning to 8 PM PDT this evening.

* IMPACTS...Small boats, kayaks and paddle boards will be prone to
  capsizing and should remain off lake waters until conditions
  improve.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Check lake conditions before heading out and be prepared for a
sudden increase in winds and wave heights. Consider postponing
boating activities on the lake until a day with less wind.
