The first round over western into northeastern Iowa may contain large hail this morning into early this afternoon. Then, additional storms will develop over southwestern Iowa this afternoon and move across the state with large hail, damaging winds, and a few tornadoes possible into this evening. The highest risk is in southern Iowa, roughly south of I-80. Pockets of heavy rain could also lead to ponding and flooding, particularly in urban areas. Recent heavy rains will lead to within bank rises on some area rivers and streams.
