This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of north central
Illinois...northeast Illinois and northwest Indiana.
.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight.
Weather hazards expected...
Limited Thunderstorm Risk south of I-80...with an associated:
Level 1 of 5 Damaging Wind Risk...up to 60 mph.
Elevated Flooding Risk.
High Swim Risk Lake Michigan Beaches tonight.
DISCUSSION...
Widespread soaking rainfall with localized corridors of
torrential rainfall may lead to flooding in some areas today. The
greatest likelihood of flooding is present near and south of I-88.
A few thunderstorms may also occur, especially well south of I-
80, where there is also a conditional threat for a few severe
storms south of a Pontiac, IL to Rensselaer, IN line.
Strengthening onshore winds will cause the threat for rip
currents at southern Lake Michigan beaches to ramp this evening
and continue through tonight.

Monday...
High Swim Risk Lake Michigan Beaches.
Tuesday night through Saturday...
Limited Thunderstorm Risk.
DISCUSSION...
An elevated danger for rip currents at southern Lake Michigan
beaches will continue into Monday.
Periodic thunderstorm chances are currently forecasted Tuesday
night through Saturday.

Spotters may be needed well south of I-80 this afternoon and
evening.

A steady soaking rain is expected this afternoon and evening. The highest rainfall amounts are forecast generally south of I-88 where totals in excess of 1 to 2 inches are possible. Many rivers and streams across the region remain elevated from recent heavy rainfall. Thus, rainfall amounts of this magnitude will result in renewed rises on area streams and rivers, with some potentially topping flood stage. Anyone in or near flood prone areas should closely monitor later forecasts. This will be the final outlook for this event. $$ Birk
