This hazardous weather outlook is for Eastern Upper Michigan and
Northern Lower Michigan.

.DAY ONE...Tonight.

Whiteout conditions are expected across parts of northern Michigan
at times this evening into Friday morning, especially across open
areas. Please see the latest winter storm warnings and winter
weather advisories for additional details.

Dangerously cold air moves in tonight with wind chills as cold as
30 below zero. See the latest extreme cold warning for further
details.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday.

Reduced visibility with lake effect snow is expected to continue
across parts of northern Michigan into Friday afternoon. Please
see the latest winter storm warnings and winter weather
advisories for additional details.

Dangerously cold air will remain in place Friday into Saturday
with wind chills as cold as 30 below zero. See the latest extreme cold
warning for further details.

...EXTREME COLD WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 8 PM THIS EVENING TO 11 AM
EST SATURDAY...

* WHAT...Dangerously cold wind chills as low as 30 below expected.

* WHERE...A portion of Northern Lower Michigan.

* WHEN...From 8 PM this evening to 11 AM EST Saturday. Coldest wind
  chills are expected late tonight into Friday morning, and again
  late Friday night into Saturday morning.

* IMPACTS...The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 30 below zero
  could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Dress in layers including a hat, face mask, and gloves if you must
go outside.

...WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 PM EST FRIDAY...

* WHAT...Lake effect snow and significant drops in visibility.
  Additional snow accumulations between 1 and 3 inches with locally
  higher amounts possible. Winds gusting as high as 35 mph.

* WHERE...A portion of Northern Lower Michigan.

* WHEN...Until 1 PM EST Friday.

* IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult. Areas of blowing snow
  will significantly reduce visibility with white out conditions
  expected across open areas at times into Friday morning. Hazardous
  driving conditions will be worsened by cold air temperatures
  making road treatment difficult. The hazardous conditions will
  impact the Thursday evening and Friday morning commutes.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in
your vehicle in case of an emergency.
