A Red Flag Warning is in effect until 9 PM for strong and gusty northwest winds and low relative humidity from the Brainerd Lakes east into the I-35 corridor. Near-critical fire weather conditions are also forecast through this evening over most of the remainder of northeast Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin. Localized minor flooding continues over portions of the Boundary Waters. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday Localized minor flooding continues in the Boundary Waters region. Widespread rain and thunderstorms are expected Sunday afternoon through Tuesday. Severe storms are possible Sunday evening through early Monday morning. Large hail and damaging winds are the main threats. The risk of severe storms shifts into east- central Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin Monday afternoon and evening. Damaging wind gusts to 70 mph and large hail to golf ball size are the main severe weather threats. A tornado can`t be ruled out. Dry conditions and gusty winds will lead to near-critical fire weather conditions Saturday. West winds in the morning will turn northwesterly behind a cold front. Sustained winds of 10 to 15 mph with gusts of 20 to 25 mph are forecast. Minimum relative humidity values of 20 to 30 percent are also expected. Together, these conditions could lead to the rapid spread of fires. Check burning restrictions and fire danger before burning.
