The highest accumulations of 6 inches or more are expected from the I-35 corridor and east across Northwest Wisconsin where Winter Storm Warnings are in effect. Locally higher totals are expected on the South Shore. Strong northwest winds with gusts of 30 to 50 mph will create blizzard conditions along the South Shore that will lead to blowing and drifting snow and reduce visibility. Temperatures fall all through the day today, then dip to low temps generally between 5 below and 5 above zero. With the strong north to northwest winds, wind chill values may dip to 15 to 25 below zero. Frostbite can develop on exposed skin in 10 to 30 minutes at these wind chills. Wind gusts to 60 mph in southern Cook County Sunday late evening and through Monday daytime may create localized power outages and downed trees. Localized gusts around 50 mph also expected in southern Lake County north of Two Harbors. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday The winter storm lingers into Monday morning. Strong north winds will continue to cause some blowing and drifting of the freshly fallen snow. Lake effect snowfall continues into Monday morning along the South Shore for areas east of Ashland. Temperatures will trend to near or below zero at night most of this week. Wind chills of 15 to 25 below zero are forecast Monday morning and then each morning from Wednesday through Friday. Frostbite can develop on exposed skin in 10 to 30 minutes at these wind chills. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
