This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for northwest Iowa, west central
Iowa, southwest Minnesota, northeast Nebraska, central South
Dakota, east central South Dakota, south central South Dakota and
southeast South Dakota.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.

Increasing south winds are expected today, with gusts up to 50 mph in
higher elevations of south-central and east-central South Dakota and
southwest Minnesota.

Grassland fire danger will be locally elevated in snow-free areas
where the grasses and ground have sufficiently dried after recent
snow.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday.

Stronger northwest winds expand across the region Thursday morning
behind a strong cold front. Gusts of 55 to 60 mph will be common,
with isolated gusts up to 70 mph possible near and west of I-29.
Scattered snow showers may lead to additional travel difficulties
due to rapidly changing visibility, including during the Thursday
morning commute. Rapidly falling temperatures Thursday morning will
also bring the potential for a flash freeze of any roads still wet
from areas of rain Wednesday night.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Spotter activation is not expected at this time.
