This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of northeast
Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

A winter storm continues to impact northeast Minnesota and
northwest Wisconsin today through Thursday. The primary hazards
include heavy wet snow, freezing rain, and damaging winds.
Blizzard conditions are expected along the North Shore and in the
Twin Ports, creating life-threatening travel conditions.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday

A strong winter storm continues through Thursday morning.
Blizzard conditions with dangerous travel will impact the North
Shore, while heavy snow and ice affect the rest of the region.

A secondary system will bring additional snow accumulation
chances late Thursday night through Saturday morning.

Snow spotters are requested to report their snowfall measurements
to the National Weather Service.

...BLIZZARD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON CST THURSDAY...

* WHAT...Blizzard conditions. Additional snow accumulations between
  4 and 7 inches except between 5 and 12 inches for the higher
  terrain of the North Shore and ice accumulations around a light
  glaze. Winds gusting as high as 60 mph.

* WHERE...Carlton and South St. Louis Counties. This includes the
  Tribal Lands of the Fond du Lac Band.

* WHEN...Until noon CST Thursday.

* IMPACTS...The strong winds and weight of snow on tree limbs may
  down power lines and could cause sporadic power outages. Whiteout
  conditions are expected and will make travel treacherous and
  potentially life-threatening.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Travel should be restricted to emergencies only. If you must travel,
have a winter survival kit with you. If you get stranded, stay with
your vehicle. Call 511 or visit www.511mn.org for Minnesota road
information.
