This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of northeast
Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

There is a 10-30% chance for isolated to scattered thunderstorms
this afternoon into evening, mainly along and south US-2 in
northeast Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin. There is a Marginal
Risk, level 1 out of 5, for isolated severe thunderstorms over
portions of central Minnesota, the I-35 corridor, and northwest
Wisconsin. Hail up to half dollar size, 1.25 inches in diameter,
and damaging wind gusts up to 60 mph are the main risks.

Low relative humidity will lead to near-critical fire weather
conditions this afternoon into early evening north of a line from
Walker to Longville to Ely to Sea Gull Lake, including the
Borderlands and portions of the Iron Range.

Localized minor flooding continues over portions of the Boundary
Waters. A Flood Advisory remains in effect for areas where high
flows are expected.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday

Localized minor flooding continues over portions of the Boundary
Waters. Water levels will continue to decrease through the next
week.

There is a 10% chance of isolated storms Wednesday.

Northeast winds are forecast over western Lake Superior Wednesday
and Saturday which could lead to rip currents at the beaches of
the Twin Ports.

Near-critical fire weather conditions are possible over portions
of north-central Minnesota and the Arrowhead Wednesday and
Thursday. Drier conditions and widespread warm temperatures are
forecast Friday.

Skywarn spotters are encouraged to report hail of any size and
rainfall amounts to the National Weather Service.

...FLOOD ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 345 PM CDT TUESDAY...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by rain and snowmelt continues.

* WHERE...In Minnesota, St. Louis County.

* WHEN...Until 345 PM CDT Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
  Some low-water crossings may become impassable. River or stream
  flows are elevated.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 653 AM CDT Monday, gauge reports indicated rain and
    snowmelt created elevated water levels and stream flows.
    Minor flooding is already occurring in the advisory area.
  - This includes the following streams and drainages...
    Range Line Creek, Hustler River, Jeanette Creek, Shohola
    Creek, Wolfpack Creek, Moose River, Legend Creek, Ge-be-on-e-
    quet Creek, Heritage Creek, Oyster River, Nugget Creek and
    Portage River.
    Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is
    expected.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Northwestern Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, Lake
    Agnes, Lac la Croix, Lac La Croix, Loon Lake and Crooked
    Lake.
  - Flood safety information can be found at

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Campers and hikers should avoid flooded trail crossings.

Portage and hiking trails may be impassable and low-lying campsites
may be inundated with excessive runoff in this section of the
Boundary Waters as flooding occurring.

Report observed flooding to local emergency services or law
enforcement and to the National Weather Service in Duluth when you
can do so safely. Flooding can be reported to the National Weather
Service at 1-800-685-8612.
