This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of northeast
Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin.

.DAY ONE...This afternoon and Tonight

Near-critical fire weather conditions across portions of central
and north-central Minnesota due to low relative humidity.

Recent snowmelt and rainfall led to water level rises in creeks,
streams, and rivers over portions of northwest Wisconsin and the
Minnesota Arrowhead. Flood advisories and warnings are in effect.
Localized minor flooding is expected and water levels will
slowly decrease through tonight.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday

Near-critical fire weather conditions may persist over portions
of northeast Minnesota into the weekend.

High water will continue to recede Saturday and Sunday. Additional
rainfall is forecast early next week which may cause additional
minor flooding.

The National Weather Service in Duluth, MN is proposing to
discontinue the Hazardous Weather Outlook product on or around
May 11 2026 because it is a redundant product. Please note that
no other products including forecasts, warnings, and NOAA Weather
Radio will be changing, only the Hazardous Weather Outlook
product is proposed to be discontinued. Feedback on the proposal
to discontinue the Hazardous Weather Outlook is open through May
11. Please email nws.duluth@noaa.gov with your feedback. Again to
repeat, NOAA Weather Radio is not going away and we will continue
to issue forecasts and warnings.

...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 645 PM CDT SATURDAY...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by rain and snowmelt is expected.

* WHERE...In Minnesota, Cook, Lake and St. Louis Counties.

* WHEN...Until 645 PM CDT Saturday.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
  Some low-water crossings may become impassable. River or stream
  flows are elevated. Flooding is occurring on area rivers that are
  popular for waterfall viewing.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 643 AM CDT Friday, rain and snowmelt is occurring, and
    will cause minor flooding. Rapid river rises will cause minor
    flooding in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 2 inches of
    rain have fallen.
  - Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over
    the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Grand Marais, Gunflint Lake, Two Harbors, Silver Bay, Grand
    Portage, Lutsen, Tofte, Beaver Bay, Forest Center, Temperance
    River State Park, George Manitou State Park, Taconite Harbor,
    Isabella, Little Marais and Finland.
  - Flood safety information can be found at

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Campers and hikers should avoid flooded trail crossings. If camping
at a site along or near the banks of rivers or streams, move away
from those locations and seek higher ground. Trails in hilly terrain
can quickly become unstable during or shortly after heavy rainfall.

Visitors to area waterfalls should expect snow and ice covered
trails and be careful around rivers that will have slippery rocks,
cliffs, and strong currents.
