This hazardous weather outlook is for northwest...north central and
west central Missouri...as well as extreme eastern Kansas.

.DAY ONE...Through tonight.

There is a low probability of widespread hazardous weather.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Friday through Wednesday.

.KEY MESSAGES...

* Hazardous heat continues. Heat indices in the 100-105 F range are
  expected through Friday. An Extreme Heat Warning Remains in effect
  until Friday evening.

* Low chances (~20-30%) for showers and storms through the end of
  the week, mainly across north and northwest Missouri in the
  evening and overnight hours.

* Scattered storms possible (40-50% chance) Saturday, July 4th, in
  the afternoon and evening. There is a Marginal Risk (Level 1 of 5)
  of severe weather.

* Off-and-on rain chances (20-30%) continue into early next week
  with slightly cooler temperatures (low 90s) and lower heat
  indices (95-100 F).

...EXTREME HEAT WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 PM CDT FRIDAY...

* WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with heat index values up to
  100-110 expected. Overnight lows in the upper 70s.

* WHERE...Portions of east central and northeast Kansas and central,
  north central, northeast, northwest, and west central Missouri.

* WHEN...Until 9 PM CDT Friday.

* IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during
  extreme heat and high humidity events.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Several days of extreme heat will impact the
  region with poor heat relief during the overnight hours.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.
