Special Weather Statement National Weather Service Bismarck ND 425 PM CDT Mon Sep 15 2025 NDZ002>005-010>013-152330- Burke-Renville-Bottineau-Rolette-Mountrail-Ward-McHenry-Pierce- Including the cities of Bowbells, Powers Lake, Lignite, Columbus, Portal, Mohall, Glenburn, Sherwood, Bottineau, Rolla, Dunseith, Rolette, Shell Valley, St. John, New Town, Stanley, Parshall, Minot, Velva, Towner, Drake, and Rugby 425 PM CDT Mon Sep 15 2025 ...FUNNEL CLOUDS IN NORTH CENTRAL NORTH DAKOTA... At 415 PM CDT, funnel clouds were reported by law enforcement and the public near Surrey and the Minot Air Force Base. The showers producing these funnel clouds were moving east-southeast at 30 mph. Additional funnel clouds may form late this afternoon and early evening in north central North Dakota. These funnel clouds are not associated with severe thunderstorms. They are formed by showers or thundershowers when unique meteorological conditions exist. These types of funnel clouds are usually short lived. However, they can and occasionally do touch the ground and cause minor damage. Because of this possibility, if you see one of these funnel clouds, take cover immediately. $$ CJS
