Additional snow accumulations between 3 and 9 inches. Total snow accumulations between 8 and 16 inches with the higher totals over the mountains. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph. * WHERE...The Berkshires of western Massachusetts, Greene, Columbia and eastern Rensselaer Counties in eastern New York, and southern Vermont. * WHEN...Until 7 PM EST this evening. * IMPACTS...Visibilities may drop below 1/4 mile due to falling and blowing snow. The strong winds and weight of snow on tree limbs may down power lines and could cause sporadic power outages. Travel will be difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the morning and evening commutes. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...A powerful nor`easter will impact the region today. There will be a sharp gradient of snowfall totals and the higher snowfall amounts will be favored across the higher elevations and southern parts of the area.
