This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for southern Connecticut and
southeast New York.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.

There is a marginal to slight risk of excessive rainfall capable of
producing localized flash flooding, and a marginal risk of severe
thunderstorms capable of producing strong to damaging wind gusts.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday.

No hazardous weather is expected at this time that would meet NWS
warning criteria.

...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 930 PM EDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive
  rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of southern Connecticut, including the following
  counties, Fairfield, Middlesex and New Haven and southeast New
  York, including the following county, Putnam.

* WHEN...Until 930 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
  Overflowing poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 630 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream
    flooding. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain has fallen.
  - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected
    over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
    flooding.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Waterbury, Danbury, Meriden, Middletown, Wallingford,
    Naugatuck, Southbury, Wolcott, East Hampton, Mahopac, Lake
    Carmel, Sherman, Brewster, Newtown, Cheshire, Ridgefield,
    Monroe, Bethel, Brookfield and Cromwell.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
