* WHAT...Heat index values up to 101 degrees expected.

* WHERE...Franklin County.

* WHEN...Until 8 PM EDT this evening.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
  illnesses.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Some showers and thunderstorms today may
  provide local relief from the heat, but it will remain very humid.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay out of the sun, and stay in an
air-conditioned room.

Check up on relatives and neighbors, and provide pets with adequate
water and shelter from the sun.

Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles
under any circumstances. This is especially true during hot weather
when car interiors can reach lethal temperatures in a matter of
minutes. LOOK BEFORE YOU LOCK.

Severe thunderstorms with damaging winds 60 mph or greater and
large hail exceeding 1 inch in diameter are also possible late this
afternoon and evening.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday.

Severe thunderstorms are possible again on Sunday afternoon and
evening.
