...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH TUESDAY AFTERNOON...
* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.
* WHERE...Portions of northern Connecticut, including Hartford,
Tolland and Windham Counties, southeastern Massachusetts,
including Southern Bristol County, and all of Rhode Island,
including Block Island.
* WHEN...Through Tuesday afternoon.
* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- Periods of heavy rain are expected today into Tuesday
afternoon. Widespread rainfall amounts of 1-3 inches are
expected into Tuesday, with localized totals of 4-6 inches
possible in any narrow bands of torrential rainfall that
develop. Exact location of these bands is still uncertain,
but urban and/or small stream flash flooding are
possibilities under any that develop.
