This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of southwest North
Carolina...east Tennessee and southwest Virginia.

.DAY ONE...This Afternoon and Tonight

Showers and scattered thunderstorms, some with very heavy rainfall,
will occur this afternoon and especially tonight. Areas that see
repeated or prolonged periods of heavy rain will be at risk for
flash flooding.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday

The threat of very heavy rainfall and possible flash flooding will
continue into Saturday before diminishing later in the day.

Any reports of flooding through Saturday will be appreciated.

...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT THROUGH THIS AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
  possible.

* WHERE...Portions of southwest North Carolina, including the
  following areas, Cherokee and Clay and east Tennessee, including
  the following areas, Anderson, Bledsoe, Blount Smoky Mountains,
  Bradley, Campbell, Claiborne, Cocke Smoky Mountains, East Polk,
  Grainger, Hamblen, Hamilton, Hancock, Hawkins, Jefferson, Knox,
  Loudon, Marion, McMinn, Meigs, Morgan, North Sevier, Northwest
  Blount, Northwest Cocke, Northwest Greene, Northwest Monroe, Rhea,
  Roane, Scott TN, Sequatchie, Sevier Smoky Mountains, Southeast
  Greene, Southeast Monroe, Unicoi, Union, Washington TN and West
  Polk.

* WHEN...Through this afternoon.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
  creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - Showers and a few thunderstorms will continue in parts of the
    area through the morning, some with very heavy rainfall.
    Rainfall rates between 1 to 3 inches per hour can be expected
    with some of these showers and storms, and areas that see
    repeated or prolonged periods of heavy rain will be
    especially at risk for flash flooding.
