...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 9 PM EDT /8 PM CDT/ THIS
EVENING...

* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
  possible.

* WHERE...Portions of southwest North Carolina, including the
  following areas, Cherokee and Clay and east Tennessee, including
  the following areas, Anderson, Bledsoe, Blount Smoky Mountains,
  Bradley, Campbell, East Polk, Hamilton, Knox, Loudon, Marion,
  McMinn, Meigs, Morgan, North Sevier, Northwest Blount, Northwest
  Monroe, Rhea, Roane, Scott TN, Sequatchie, Sevier Smoky Mountains,
  Southeast Monroe, Union and West Polk.

* WHEN...Until 9 PM EDT /8 PM CDT/ this evening.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
  creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - Showers and thunderstorms will be over the area today,
    some with very heavy rainfall.  Rainfall rates of 1 to 3
    inches per hour will be possible, which will lead to the risk
    of
    isolated flash flooding especially in areas that see repeated
    or prolonged periods of heavy rain.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of southwest North
Carolina...east Tennessee and southwest Virginia.

.DAY ONE...This Afternoon and Tonight

Showers and thunderstorms will continue over the area today into
this evening, some with very heavy rainfall and the risk of
isolated flash flooding especially in areas that see repeated or
prolonged periods of heavy rain. See the flash flood watch for
more information.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday

Showers and storms can be expected across the area each day this
week. Some of these may bring heavy rainfall rates and the
potential for localized flooding, especially on Tuesday.
