This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for the Maryland portion of the
Chesapeake Bay, Tidal Potomac River, and I-95 corridor through
central Maryland, northern Virginia, and District of Columbia.

.DAY ONE...Tonight

Isolated to widely scattered thunderstorms later this afternoon
into this evening could necessitate a few Special Marine
Warnings.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday

A Heat Advisory is in effect from 11 AM to 7 PM Thursday.

Numerous thunderstorms are expected on Thursday afternoon into
Thursday evening. A few thunderstorms could be severe, producing
locally damaging wind gusts and large hail.

* WHAT...Heat index values up to 107 expected.

* WHERE...Portions of DC, central, north central, northeast,
  northern, southern, and western Maryland, central, northern,
  northwest, and western Virginia, and eastern and panhandle West
  Virginia.

* WHEN...From 11 AM to 7 PM EDT Thursday.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
  illnesses.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.
