South winds will continue to increase overnight. Gusts of 30 to 40 mph will be possible, with localized gusts to 45 mph possible. The highest gusts will be in the Champlain Valley and along the northern slopes of the Adirondacks. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday. A strong storm system will bring widespread rain and gusty winds to the region Thursday and Thursday night. Gusts up to 50 mph will be possible, with the strongest winds in portions of the Champlain Valley and the northern Adirondacks. Isolated power outages are possible. A cold front will change rain back over to snow during the day Friday, with winds remaining gusty into Friday night. Modest river rises are possible, though significant or widespread flooding is not anticipated. Travel may be impacted, especially on Friday due to snow and a potential flash freeze.
