...HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM TO 8 PM EDT TUESDAY...

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for northern New York, central
Vermont, northeast Vermont, northwest Vermont and southern Vermont.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight.

Hazardous weather is not expected at this time.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday.

   Heat Advisory.

Moderate to Major Heat Risk is expected on Tuesday, with heat
indices
93 to 103 over much of the region.

Potentially significant strong to severe thunderstorms will be
possible Tuesday evening into Tuesday night. The Storm Prediction
Center has placed areas along the International Border in an
Enhanced Risk (Level 3 out of 5) for the potential for damaging
severe winds. The rest of the area has been placed in a Marginal to
Slight Risk.

* WHAT...Heat index values between 93 to 103 expected.

* WHERE...Much of northern New York and Vermont.

* WHEN...From 11 AM to 8 PM EDT Tuesday.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
  illnesses.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Hottest conditions are expected between 2 PM
  and 7 PM.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early
morning. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.
