With surface temperatures near or slightly below freezing in parts
of southern Vermont into Washington County, NY, pockets of sleet
and/or light freezing may occur through the overnight hours. This
could lead to some icy spots on any untreated roads and surfaces.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for southern Vermont and portions
of eastern New York including Fulton County and the Upper Hudson
Valley.

.DAY ONE...Tonight.

There is a low probability for widespread hazardous weather.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Wednesday through Monday.

A storm system will affect the region tonight into Wednesday. While
mostly rain is expected, moderate snowfall may occur across the
higher terrain of the southern Green Mountains, especially later
Wednesday into Thursday. A Winter Weather Advisory may be needed if
confidence increases.

Lake effect snow is expected to develop Wednesday Night continuing
into much of the upcoming weekend, which could bring light to
moderate snow to portions of the central Mohawk Valley and southern
Green Mountains.

In addition, gusty west to northwest winds will develop Wednesday
night into Thursday. Gusts of 35 to 45 mph are likely. If confidence
in wind gusts exceeding 45 mph increases, a Wind Advisory would be
issued.
