This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of northeast
Minnesota and northwest Wisconsin.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

A winter storm will affect the area starting later this morning,
bringing heavy snow and high winds to the region today and
tonight. The highest accumulations of 6 inches or more are
expected from the I-35 corridor and east across Northwest
Wisconsin where Winter Storm Warnings are in effect. Locally
higher totals are expected on the South Shore. Strong northwest
winds with gusts of 30 to 50 mph will create blizzard conditions
along the South Shore that will lead to blowing and drifting snow
and reduce visibility.

Temperatures fall all through the day today, then dip to low temps
generally between 5 below and 5 above zero. With the strong north
to northwest winds, wind chill values may dip to 15 to 25 below
zero. Frostbite can develop on exposed skin in 10 to 30 minutes
at these wind chills.

Wind gusts to 60 mph in southern Cook County Sunday late evening
and through Monday daytime may create localized power outages and
downed trees. Localized gusts around 50 mph also expected in
southern Lake County north of Two Harbors.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday

The winter storm lingers into Monday morning. Strong north winds
will continue to cause some blowing and drifting of the freshly
fallen snow. Lake effect snowfall continues into Monday morning
along the South Shore for areas east of Ashland.

Temperatures will trend to near or below zero at night most of
this week. Wind chills of 15 to 25 below zero are forecast Monday
morning and then each morning from Wednesday through Friday.
Frostbite can develop on exposed skin in 10 to 30 minutes at these
wind chills.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Snow spotters are requested to report their snowfall measurements
to the National Weather Service.
